Our fun photography sessions are specially designed to introduce children as young as two years old to this creative art form, whilst at the same time having an educational perspective.

 

The children will be using either iPad/tablet devices or simple to operate compact cameras.

 

The workshops’ scheduling is totally flexible to fit around the nursery school day and session times.

 

Where different groups of children attend the morning and afternoon periods, we frequently run an hour session for each on the same day and spread the series of workshops over several weeks.

 

This perfectly accommodates the ‘World Around Us’ module, providing the opportunity to photographically capture the changing landscape of the school grounds over the running time of the series.

Duration: Up to 15 minutes.

Overview: To show the children how to take their photographs without making mistakes that are easily avoided.

 

Introduction to digital photography

 

 

Duration: Up to one hour.

Photographic devices:  iPods, iPads/tablets, compact cameras.

Overview: Through the medium of photography, children are counting whilst creatively arranging their 'props'

 

Numeracy

 

 

Duration: Up to one hour.

Photographic devices:  iPods, iPads/tablets, compact cameras.

Overview: Children will be identifying a variety of coloured objects whilst continuing to develop their numeracy skills.

 

 

Colours

 

 

Duration: Up to one hour.

Photographic devices:  iPods, iPads/tablets, compact cameras.

Overview: The children will be identifying and photographing a range of different 2- and 3-dimensional shapes.

 

 

Shapes

 

 

Duration: Up to one hour.

Photographic devices:  iPods, iPads/tablets, compact cameras.

Overview: As an introduction to portraiture photography, they’ll photograph each other in a variety of poses.

 

 

My friends and me

 

 

 

Duration: 15 minutes or 1 hour.

Photographic devices:  iPods, iPads/tablets, compact cameras.

Overview: As an introduction to landscape photography, they capture the changes from their vantage point each week.

 

 

 

The world around us

 

 

 

Duration: Up to one hour.

Photographic devices:  A bridge or a digital single lens reflex camera, preferably mounted on to a tripod.

Overview: It’s unlikely they’ll have done anything like this before and it’s got lots of “WOW” factor.

 

 

 

Painting with light

 

 

 

Duration: Up to one hour.

Photographic devices: iPods, iPads/tablets, compact cameras.

Overview: A chance to put their photography skills into practice, whilst searching for “treasure” and mimicking the pix on the “map”.
